That brings an end to our live coverage of the first clash of the day. Mumbai Indians are placed on the number second spot at the moment, but the winner of the DC-RCB clash will leap over them later tonight. The five-time IPL champions have won five games on the bounce and are riding high on confidence. Ominous signs for other teams as we inch towards the business end of the tournament. For now, this is Nikhil signing off on behalf of Mukesh, Raju, Sagar and Venky. Ciao!

Will Jacks | Player of the Match: I will always be a batter who bowls, my bowling is important. It's important for the team and myself. I have worked hard on my bowling, doesn't matter what others say. There are still improvements to be made. We know how important Pant and Pooran are. I was relieved after taking Pooran's wicket. I get more opportunity bowling to left-handers, I like it. I have enjoyed my time here, they have been welcoming. They have given me confidence to be a part of this family. As a team we are finding a nice rhythm, need to keep going. Bumrah is an incredible bowler, it's pretty tough to face him in the nexts, so I am very happy he is in my team. He is amazing to watch.

Hardik Pandya | MI captain: The momentum which we had, we are carrying it forward. Everyone is clicking. The kids created the atmosphere for us, we did it for them, so very glad. Everyone kept taking their chances. The way Bosch came in and smashed those sixes, everyone chipped in. The bowlers were spot on. Good teams are made of the same, when everyone chips in. From Ryan, Will, to Bosch, myself, everyone is chipping in. I bowl when I am required. Today was the best chance for Bosch to come in and bowl. This competition is very tough, can't get carried away. We need to play good cricket, always prepare for the next game and keep up with the momentum going forward.

STAT: The first time in seven attempts MI have beaten LSG in the league stage, the only previous win came in Eliminator in IPL 2023.

Corbin Bosch: I officially got the news first thing in the morning, super happy. It is a super special day for me it is my brother's birthday so I wish him happy birthday, what a special day to make by debut. This Mumbai Indians team has been very special, really enjoyed the journey so far. My nerves were through the roof the whole time, but once I made contact with the ball the nerves settled down. I put a lot of work behind the scenes with my bowling back in South Africa. I am just happy to bat wherever the team needs me and willing to contribute as much as I can for the team. The crowd has been absolutely fantastic, glad that we could make this day a little special for them. Such a special initiative from the Mumbai Indians team.

Rishabh Pant | LSG captain: We feel as a team it was the right decision for us (to bowl first), because most of the time we back our batting. Yes bowlers, we want to give the best conditions for them, but today wasn't our day. The other team is playing good cricket, you've got to give credit to them instead of just looking to question yourself. As a team, the dip is there but we can figure it out because we have a break at the right time. Keeping it very simple, not thinking about it too much (talking about his poor run). In a season like this, where things are not going your way, you're going to start questioning yourself as a player - that's not something you want to do. When the team is doing well, you've got to think about that. It's a team game. Everytime if you take out the individual, it's not the right thing to do I guess. Definitely it was good to see him coming back from injury. First match, he's getting that rhythm, you can see it. Hopefully he gets better and better next time.

19:26 Local Time, 13:56 GMT, 19:26 IST: Mumbai Indians have jumped to the second spot as a result of this clinical victory against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede. Their opener - Ryan Rickelton set the tone earlier in the day by notching up a quick fifty, while Suryakumar Yadav played another pivotal knock as he climbed the ladder and became the highest run-getter of the season. There were a few cameos by the MI batters, particularly Naman Dhir and Corbin Bosch, that helped Mumbai Indians breach the 200-run mark. In reply, LSG lost their in-form batsman - Markram within the powerplay, but Pooran and Marsh played some attacking cricket to keep the boundaries coming while they were at the crease. They failed to convert their starts though and the batters who followed next couldn't add anything substantial either as MI kept chipping away at the wickets. Jacks picked up a couple of wickets by dismissing Pooran and Pant, Boult took three wickets, while Bumrah was pick of the lot as the ace pacer took four wickets and helped MI clinch an emphatic win. Stay around for the presentations..
