Profile
The daughter of a semi professional volleyball player, Arundhati Reddy’s success story is partly her mom’s vicarious reality of having played at the highest level sport for India. Her mother Bhagya Reddy was the one who pushed Arundhati towards sports, personally overlooking her training sessions and buying her a two-wheeler at the age of 18 to help save the long bus commutes. Idolizing MS Dhoni, Arundhati initially wanted to become a wicket-keeper but her childhood coaches recognised her potential as a fast bowler and molded her in that direction. At the age of 15, Arundhati was the captain of the Hyderabad Women’s U19 Cricket team, and touted for much bigger things.

Arundhati made her Indian debut in September, 2018 in a T20I against Sri Lanka. Since then, she has been a consistent feature of the Indian team and has been part of the three subsequent T20 World Cup squads. In the WPL, Arundhati represents Delhi Capitals since the 2023 season.
